(1915-1996)
Zulfiya Isroilova was born on March 1, 1915 in the family of an artisan in Mahalla Ukchi of Tashkent city.
1931-1934 – She studied at Women’s College. Participates in literary circles and trained to write poetry.
July 17, 1931 – her first poem “I am a working girl” is printed in the newspaper “Worker”.
1932 – meets Khamid Alimdjan.
1932 – publishes first book of poems titled “Sheets of life.” She studies at the Tashkent State Pedagogical Institute named after Nizami.
1933-1935 – works at State Publishing House of Uzbekistan.
1935-1938 – studies at postgraduate course of the Institute of language and literature under the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan.
1938 – works as an editor in children’s publishing house.
1939 – publishes book of poetry “Song of the girls.”
1941 – head of the Department of Literature at the State Publishing House of Uzbekistan.
1943 – publishes the book “Khulkar” and poem “His name is Farkhad.”
1944 – publishes the book “In the days of separation.”
1944 – writes poems dedicated to death of Khamid Alimdjan “Sorry, I’m remained in the dark”, “Star”, “What troubles”, “Where are you, my heart”, “Have you seen tears in my eyes”, “Spring came, asking you”.
1950-1953 – head of the department of the magazine “Women of Uzbekistan.”
1950 – publishes a book of poetry “I sing of the morning”
1953 – publishes the book “The conversation with friends” and essay “Aydin”.
1954 – chief editor of “Saodat” magazine.
1958 – publishes the book “People close to my heart”, writes poem “Poetry tournament”, creates libretto “Zaynab and Omon”.
1965 – is awarded with the title of People’s poet of Uzbekistan. Publishes a collection of poems “My tunes for you”, a book of literary articles “My thoughts”.
1967 – is awarded with the International Prize “Zhavoharlal Neru”. Writes the poem “Sunny pencil”.
1970 – is awarded with the International Prize “Lotus”.
1972 – publishes a collection of poems “Rendezvous with the beloved”
1972 – received the Order “Cyril and Methodius” of 2nd class of the People’s Republic of Bulgaria.
1974 – publishes a 2-volume collection of “Works”.
1975 – publishes a book of poems “The years, the years”.
1976 – is awarded with the State Prize for her book of poems “Rainbow”. Publishes a book of poems “Waterfall”.
1984 – is awarded with the title of Hero of Labor and with the State Prize of the Republic. Writes a play-fairytale based on the epos of Khamid Alimdjan “Semurg”.
Is awarded with orders and medals.
Died in1996.
